    Fall Adult Learn to Row

    What is Learn to Row?

    • During Learn to row athletes 18 and up learn the basics of rowing. They'll learn how to use the ergometor (rowing machine, referred to as "erg") and how to scull in single shells on the water. Our coaches will instruct athletes on the basics of the rowing stroke and to help them feel as comfortable as they can out on the water. Depending on group size we may also work in team boats.
    • No experienced required.

    Sessions for Fall 2024

    • Session 1: 9/11-9/20 Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30pm-7:30pm
    • Session 2: 9/24-10/4 Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30pm-7:30pm

    Requirements

    • In order to participate in learn to row at Vancouver Lake we require that athletes complete a swim test before the first learn to row session. The swim test form can be found below. These can be conducted at local community centers like the Lake Shore Athletic Club, YMCA, and the Marshall Center in Vancouver.

Required for all new rowers (exception: kids boating camp).

Part of the application procedure involves a swim test waiver. This waiver must be signed by a certified water safety instructor - not just a lifeguard.
