YOUTH PROGRAMS
High School / Middle School Rowing
NW High School District Championships (Vancouver Lake)
Vancouver Lake Rowing Club's Middle School Team is composed of rowers in 6th through 8th grades from schools in Southwest Washington. Focus is on rowing technique, teamwork, and FUN!
Our High School Team is composed of rowers from schools throughout the Southwest Washington area. High school rowers have a strong sense of team unity that makes for a fun and successful rowing experience.
Both middle school and high school programs run year around with fall, winter, spring, and summer seasons. Spring and fall are racing seasons. Winter is strength training and working on endurance.
The Middle School program runs in tandem with the High School Program.
We row when it rains; plan on getting wet, and bring a change of clothes. Dress in layers.
Location:
VLRC is located on the Southwest corner of Vancouver Lake.

Dragon Boating
Looking for a fun and low-impact sport to try? Dragon boating is a fast-growing water sport; we are proud to be the first to introduce it to Vancouver. It is simple to learn and difficult to master. No experience is required.
After a quick land lesson, participants will don life jackets, grab their paddles and climb aboard.
We provide everything you need; please come dressed to be on the water and bring a water bottle.
We have a friendly group of paddlers who all started out just like you-they just showed up! For more information, practice times, or group activities go to https://www.meetup.com/VLCDBP/
Kayak - SUP - Outrigger Canoe - Surf Ski
Vancouver Lake Aquatic Center is now Clark County's paddling center.
There is a great deal to explore right on the lake. There are numerous nooks and crannies that are only accessible by small, manually powered water craft. But the lake is also the start of the 32 mile Lewis River-Vancouver Lake Waterway Trail. Pack a lunch! Wait till you see the birds and water fowl!
You can keep your Kayak or SUP in our covered, secure storage trailer, and it will be ready and waiting for you. Outrigger canoe storage is also available.
Contact Coach Alan for more information.

About us
VLAC has an amazing legacy that continues on with your support!
In Memorian: Bill Kalenius
Founder
The founder of Vancouver Lake Crew, Bill Kalenius, passed away Wednesday September 23, 2009 after battling colon cancer for 6 years.
"Coach Bill," as most of us knew him, was far more than just a rowing coach. For many of us Bill was a life coach. Coach Bill always said that rowing shouldn't be the first priority in our lives. He viewed things as Faith, Family, Friends, and then rowing. Bill had his priorities straight and throughout his life he touched the hearts of many, many people. Many people were able to see themselves differently and even find purpose in their own lives through rowing, all because of Bill.
We will all remember Bill as not only an amazing rowing coach, but an amazing man, who put others first and changed lives.
