    Summer Boating Camp

    • 5 one-week sessions
    • Monday – Friday, 10 am – 12:30 pm, $125 / session.
    • Ages 7-10 years old.
    • Experience health, fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie on Vancouver Lake. Designed as an intro program, you need zero experience. Our coaching staff will take you from a complete novice and teach you everything you need to know!
    • What to bring/wear: Shoes, sandals, and clothes that can get wet. Swim suits are fine. Depending on the weather: sunscreen, rain jacket, towel.
    • Snacks, drinks, and PFDs will be provided.
    • Email will be sent to campers with details one week before camp starts.
    • Coaches are Safesport trained, background checked, FirstAid/CPR/AED trained, and licensed boat drivers.

  • Learn-to-Row/Novice Camp

    • 4 one-week sessions
    • Monday – Friday, 8 - 10 am, $99 / session.
    • Experience health, fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie on Vancouver Lake. Designed as an introductory program, you need zero experience. Our coaching staff will take you from a complete novice and teach you everything you need to know!
    • What to bring/wear: Tight fitting clothes that will not get caught on the oars or the sliding seat. Depending on the weather, you'll need sunscreen, rain jacket, or towel.
    • Email will be sent to campers with details one week before camp starts.
    • Coaches are Safesport trained, background checked, FirstAid/CPR/AED trained, and licensed boat drivers.

    $650 for the full season (5 days per week)

    Swim Test

    Within the registration system you will see the instructions for the swim test. Please print this out and upload to TeamSnap (this can be done after registration is complete). If your swim test is already on file you can skip this section.

    Code of Conduct

    The team will review the Code of Conduct at the beginning of the season. Athletes must sign the form and return it to the coaches.

    USRowing Membership

    The USRowing membership can be completed by clicking here. The fee should be $40 for a Basic PLUS Regatta Package membership. (Club code: UJYPT. Choose Basic PLUS Regatta Package for $40)

  • Spring Season Details

    Practice:

    • Practice is held at the VLRC boathouse on the west side of Vancouver Lake. Our address is: 8612 NW Erwin O Rieger Memorial Highway, Vancouver, WA 98660
    • U19 includes rowers age 13-18 years old who want to practice 5 days/week.
      U15 includes rowers under 15 years old who want to practice 3 days/week.
    • Fall rowing dates
      U15: February 28-May 21, 2023
      Tuesday/Thursday 4:30 - 6:30, Saturday 8-11
      U19: February 27 - May 21, 2023
      Monday - Thursday 4:15 - 6:30, Saturday 8-11
    • What to wear: Tight fitting clothes that will not get caught on the oars or the sliding seat. Gloves are not worn for rowing. Bring spare clothes for after practice.
    • All rowing equipment is provided by VLRC.
    • Coaches are all SafeSport trained, background checked, First Aid/CPR/AED trained, licensed boat drivers.

    Regattas:

    • 4/1: Scrimmage at VLRC w/ORU, OAR, SERC, PRC
    • 4/15-4/16: Covered Bridge Regatta (Eugene, OR)
    • 4/28-4/30: Brentwood Regatta (BC Canada)
    • 5/6: Scrimmage at VLRC w/ORU, SERC, OAR
    • 5/19-21: Regional Championship at VLRC
    • 6/6-6/11: Youth Nationals (Sarasota, FL)
    • 7/7-7/9: Elk Lake Regatta (Victoria, BC CAN)

    Required for All New Rowers

    Swim Test Form

    Required for All New Rowers except for kid's boating camp.

    Everyone must submit a signed Swim Test!

    This waiver must be signed by a certified water safety instructor--not just a lifeguard.

    Scholarship Application

    VLRC is committed to making rowing available for all youth regardless of income. Available funds vary each year and are limited to a maximum 50% of season and regatta fees. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come-first serve basis, and are valid for one season.
