Development Team
- Our development team is where paddlers who would like to explore our sport start to develop their skills. It takes thousands of strokes to get proficient enough to race.
- Our development team practices 3 days per week year-round, and participates in many of the races offered to the sport in the PNW.
- Athletes will be able to practice both canoe and kayak before selecting their discipline of choice.
- No experience required.
- Vancouver Lake provides all needed equipment.
- We practice M/W/F from 6:30pm-8:00pm, October 1st - December 13th for our fall season.
- Development Team is $100 a month, you can register HERE.

Fall Session Description
- Athletes will work on developing skills in canoe/kayak on the water. We will work on technique, drills, aerobic capacity, and endurance. Athletes can expect to be on the water for about 45mins (until it gets dark).
- Atheletes will work on basic plyometrics in our weight room. We plan to build strength, stability, and coordination. Athletes can expect to do strength work for about 45mins.
- Once it's dark from mid-November onwards, we will primarily work on the stationary rowing machines and bikes instead of going out on the water.
- Athletes can also expect to go through video review and analysis on a bi-weekly basis to better understand their current technique and how to improve.
